Turning accommodation ideas into reviewable proposals
Articles are currently available in English.
Start with the access need
A long list of generic supports is less useful than a clearly described proposal. Explain the barrier, the setting where it occurs, and what the team already knows about effective support.
Make each proposal concrete
Use this pattern: “During [TASK OR SETTING], provide [SUPPORT] to address [DOCUMENTED NEED]. [RESPONSIBLE ROLE] will monitor effectiveness using [MEASURE] and review it by [DATE].”
Consider and evaluate
Possible discussion areas include accessible formats, visual task instructions, communication supports, environmental changes, and appropriate breaks. These are topics for team consideration, not recommendations for every learner. Verify suitability, implementation, and any assessment-specific rules through your school’s process.
